Winnie has been painting canvas and muslin backdrops for well over 20 years, beginning as 'The Paulina Street Studio' on Paulina Street in Chicago in l981. Since then she has moved several times so she has decided upon 'Backdrops by Winnie' as a permanent name for the company.
Educated as a fine artist in painting, art history and photography, she has studied at Wayne State, Detroit, The Art Institute of Chicago, is affiliated with Chicagoland Professional Photographers Association and is constantly learning new skills and techniques in painting and photography.
Inspired by Abstract Expressionism, the French Impressionists just to name a few great areas of art history, Winnie hand paints each backdrop using only the finest paint colorings and 100% cotton canvas and muslin.
Today she is still painting in her studio
that she shares with 2 cats and an Amazon parrot named Elly.
